We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst, II to work closely with our broad data assets across the organization as we launch an exciting new enterprise governance program. This role will be empowered to provide leadership and management of key governance activities related to metadata and reference data management for our oil pricing business unit.
Your Main Responsibilities
Inspire and promote adoption by supporting the team vision and mission
Discover, create and innovate new opportunities for data governance within the organization
Collaborate with divisional leadership and internal colleagues to create a governance-centric culture
Incorporate feedback from the colleagues and customers and identify improvement opportunities
Create and distribute monthly/quarterly reports on system adoption and achievements
Perform application front-end work related to metadata management
Create a business glossary of terms and identify all enterprise data assets
Implement Reference Data Management within the Collibra application
Apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help support the implementation of new metadata management processes, and to ensure that project requirements are achieved according to objectives and key results
Translate technical business rules and ETL code to business language
Document data security/privacy levels according to existing policy and standards
Become the subject matter expert with our metadata management software and lead implementation efforts, including training colleagues to leverage system capabilities
Create accurate impact and lineage analysis capabilities
Document data responsibilities & stewardship to enable accountability
Ensure metadata quality, consistency, currency, and security
Your Expertise
Proven data management leader with a reputation for innovation and results
Proven experience building a stronger culture of governance
Experience developing and coaching junior colleagues
Technical capabilities to proactively improve processes and data quality
University degree (Bachelors or equivalent) in Business Administration, Operations Management, Quality, Computer Sciences, or related fields
7+ years industry related experience
Technical and/or business writing experience
Comprehensive understand of metadata management best practices
Proficient with the Data Management International (DAMA.org) body of knowledge
Proficient in use of MS Office applications including Power BI
Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud Platform experience a plus
SQL skills and experience; data self-sufficiency – able to connect and interact with data natively from various systems including Oracle, Postgres, Toad
