Position Overview:
OPIS, a Dow Jones Company, requires a highly motivated sales development representative. This is a remote position located in the United States, with minimal travel throughout the United States & Canada. The position will report to a Houston based team.
Ideal candidates are self-starters able to qualify, validate and develop new business prospects from multiple sources including inbound marketing leads, conference and prospect lists, discovery and individual research. A dynamic personality with a desire to make connections and conversation while contributing to the success of the greater team.
Candidates must have strong communication skills, be extremely persistent, work well without supervision, be highly money motivated, be effective at building relationships, have good listening skills, be adept at asking probing questions, be assertive but not aggressive, with outstanding phone and interpersonal skills. Experience in the fuel industry is helpful but not required.
Prior sales experience
Working knowledge of the fuel industry is a plus
Experience working in NetSuite is a plus; experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other similar prospecting applications is a plus
Excellent interpersonal skills and phone/email presence; can deal with others in a pleasant manner and work under varying degrees of pressure and time constraints
Ability to work independently while still working within an integrated team structure
A team player that recognizes and contributes to the goals of the team
Excellent customer service skills.
Personal initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task efficiently and effectively
Demonstrated success in uncover business potential through pre-sales preparation work and with a good understanding of the client’s needs to progressing lead
English (verbal and written) proficiency required
Limited travel unless occasionally for conferences / exhibitions / trainings / team meetings
What you will do:
Maintain a self-starter attitude while creating outreach strategies for new lead generation methods
Be the first point of contact for new business prospects and determine the next steps for each prospect moving forward
Qualify all inbound leads for the sales team
Support sales colleagues on outbound strategies and lead generating efforts
Establish active communication and engagement with prospects to create new leads and sales openings
Collaborate with sales teams by creating innovative lead generation ideas
Become familiar with OPIS product portfolio
Assist sales colleagues by responding to client support requests
Utilize NetSuite to track all client interactions
Provide NetSuite reporting metrics to sales leaders
Providing clients, both internal and external, with timely assistance as required to help build and cultivate prospect relationships in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.
Helping to drive leads and online traffic with web-based activities and programs in partnership with Marketing function.

You Have:
University degree
1 to 3 years of experience preferred in sales development and lead qualification
Knowledge and genuine interest in the energy and fuel industry
Highly organized and efficient at managing day to day business with multiple priorities
English language skills are imperative. Additional languages would be an advantage
Strong oral and written communication skills
Mature, confident & self-motivated with a passion for excellence
A quick learner of new products and sales approaches
Other skills:
Proficient in CRM solutions (NetSuite)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
Basic familiarity and comfort working in the Google Suite / Gmail
Conduct effective presentations to all levels of clients
Communicate effectively with all levels of decision-makers and employees of the client
Write reports in a clear and concise manner
Represent and communicate with a diverse population
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality always
Team player who works collaboratively with colleagues, management, and all points of the organization
Capable of collaborating effectively with clients and internal team members and leadership
High ethical standards are practiced both externally and internally
