The Planning & Strategy Manager contributes to the success of the Print Group by successfully strategizing, managing, and executing programs to support Print and company priorities.
Success will be achieved by working closely with the Business Operations Director to drive efficiency and urgency, removing obstacles that would otherwise slow down the organization. The Manager will oversee special projects, collaborating with other teams, including finance, membership, customer service and operations. The Manager will also provide administrative support to the SVP, Print.
Ensure stakeholders receive pertinent, timely information about circulation, and/or about operational changes,(eg: Finance, Compliance, Advertising, Customer Service, etc).
Contribute and support specific projects as guided by the Director, Business Operations.
Oversee day to day management of the WSJ Shop, managing inventory, improving the customer experience and optimizing revenue.
Provide support for Reprints & Licensing programs.
Assist the SVP to ensure clear communication and focus on organizational and departmental strategic priorities.
Ensure effective management meetings by developing high quality and purposeful briefing documents and agendas by curating key inputs from team members.
As needed, assist with calendar management, correspondence, administrative duties for SVP, Print. Assist with departmental communications and events.
Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate must have 3-5 years experience, a collaborative spirit with excellent analytical / business skills, the confidence to challenge the status quo, and is skilled at building relationships in order to get things done.
Strong personal integrity, with a proven ability to maintain confidentiality, use discretion, and exercise professional judgment at all times.
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional organizational, skilled in managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing effectively.
Demonstrated understanding of the print operations business is an advantage.
Proven ability to thoroughly and objectively evaluate options and recommend courses of action.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively influence across a matrix organization.
Ability to effectively summarize detailed information for Senior Management.
Skilled with MS Office, particularly Excel, and Google suite.
