Department/Product Overview: The Professional Information Business (PIB) at Dow Jones plays a critical role in the delivery of key B2B products in order to be the power behind global businesses. We are a truly global business with a significant proportion of our customer base coming from outside the US. We provide information, data and analytics to help support and drive our customers key business decisions, and protect their organizations from risk. The PIB business is broken into three customer focused verticals to solve for user solutions: Knowledge & Insight, News Alerts & Data, and Risk & Compliance. These business units are continually looking to develop innovative new products that will further serve our customer needs.
Key Responsibilities: As the Product Strategy Manager for Dow Jones News, Alerts and Data (Dow Jones Newswires) within the Professional Information Business (PIB), you will report into the Head of Product Strategy. You will be responsible for setting the high level content strategy and priorities for our business as well as monitoring the competitive landscape. Your work will be informed by feedback from customers, partners, sales and business development teams, third party research, surveys, client meetings, usage data. This role will interact with a wide variety of internal and external groups including Sales, Marketing, Partner & Alliances, the Newsroom, Technology, Data Strategy, Customer Service and Finance. There will be travel involved in this role (approximately 10%-20%) with some of it international when that is possible again.
Ideally 5+ yrs experience working with news, research or data products in financial services.
Familiarity with delivery of content, including news, via feeds and APIs.
Experience working with real time market data platforms.
Strong quantitative, writing, presentation, interpersonal and communications skills.
Very organized, strategic, and focused.
Resilient and able to work through ambiguity and not having all of the right information.
Experience working with non English Language content and news.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
