Dow Jones is looking for a Business Consultant to join our Content Integration Technology Team.

Position Responsibilities:

In this position you will be working directly with clients and partners to solve problems and deliver solutions relating to our Professional Information Business. The role will also involve planning and project management elements such as scope, plans and status, and dependencies across projects or releases. The organizational scope of the position will require working with clients, business partners, and the Dow Jones systems community while communicating with all levels of management regarding the delivery of content and information solutions. The role requires the ability to develop and deliver technology related presentations to clients.

  • Support all aspects of client engagements from scope definition to delivery

  • Develop knowledge of client issues and needs

  • Demonstrate initiative and effectively manages own time and schedule

  • Liaising extensively with external or internal clients

  • Analyzing clients' systems for compliance with our specifications

  • Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability

  • Keeping up to date with technical and industry developments

  • Some travel may be required

Position Requirements Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent

  • A minimum 3+ years' progressive experience in data communications, including TCP/IP, firewalls, routers, circuit provisioning

  • XML, Java Script and Web technologies

  • Solid background in project management

  • Ability to convey technical issues in lay terms to financial professionals and other non-technical roles

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience working in a matrix environment, building and fostering strong, productive working relationships across multiple departments

  • Skilled in preparing and delivering effective presentations using various forms of delivery including PowerPoint and documentation

  • Experience with financial products, online media and publishing is a plus
