Dow Jones Analyst, GFO, Collections (French) in LONDON, United Kingdom

Job Description:

Collector’s Ledger at Dow Jones would cover several EMEA countries with France being the main one.


  • Regular communication with assigned customers through phone calls and emails in aim to build customer relationship and to ensure timely payment of invoices. Interact daily with clients to request due and overdue payments and resolve payment issues. This is to be completed by achieving assigned collections and call quality targets

  • Dealing with Purchase Orders (PO) invoices update and liaise with Billing accordingly

  • Liaise with AR and Tax departments in regards to countries Withholding Tax

  • Act in compliance with company goals, policies, and procedures as they pertain to collection activity, and specified Accounts Receivable goals and objectives. Execute a comprehensive and assigned collection strategy of oral and written communication with customers who are past due.

  • Communicate with various internal Departments, mainly Sales & Billing, in regards to past due accounts at specified intervals. Inform sales representatives and management of significant changes in account status in a timely and professional manner

  • Properly escalate accounts at risk to Management in a timely manner

  • Meet defined department and individual goals along with assigned month end reporting deadlines and activity metrics.

  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships within all departments within the company. Communicate with internal staffs regarding customer payments and issues preventing a timely resolution

  • Research and perform special projects and other activities as assigned

Performance Expectations:

  • Telephone is the primary collection tool and must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Maintain superior customer relations and customer service to all customers. Provide high-quality internal and external customer service in a timely manner. Develop positive working relationship when interacting with customers and our internal sales team

  • Manage customers by remaining polite, tactful, firm and professional

  • Follow up frequently for payment commitments

  • Maintain client confidentiality

  • Actively participate in Team planning meetings

  • Deliver a consistent and professional level of service at all times

  • Call and contact by email promptly once an account becomes past due and ensuring minimum bad debt risk through having an understanding of how the business works

  • Update customers details and collections information accordingly to each relevant systems.

  • Follow strict company policies and procedures at all times

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Has experience working mainly with French including understanding of Business and legal practices

  • Fluent in both languages, French and English, is a must

  • Knowledge of systems such as SAP, Salesforce, Cforia, Google shared drives or pivot table would be a plus.

  • Knowledge of Withholding Tax process would be a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines

  • Full Microsoft suite, including excel, word and PowerPoint although Excel especially

  • Prior collections experience required. Preferred history of demonstrated success in a fast paced, flexible environment with shifting demands and priorities

This is a 6 month contract position.
