Job Description:
Role
The Quality Analyst, VentureSource Data role is part of Strategic Services’ Quality team. The Strategic Services team provides key strategic functions across Data Strategy, including Quality, Business Management, Content Strategy, Metadata Management and Solutions. The Strategic Services group houses all non-research capabilities within Data Strategy.
The Quality group is comprised of all post production quality teams drawn from all different areas unified to ensure best practices are established and maintained. They will be focused on:
- Post-product quality management
- Oversight & governance of quality standards
- Coordination of quality monitoring
- Feedback & remedial action
- Quality process & guidelines
Responsibilities
Create and deliver high-quality custom reports, analysis, insight, perspective, and visualizations to clients, partners, and internal users by using advanced database querying and data analysis techniques
Execute on comprehensive Quality Assurance and reporting function in support of the DJ Risk and Compliance and DJ VentureSource product line
Build SQL queries to track quality issues
Use data integrity tools to identify erroneous data points. Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues with sourced, processed and/or consolidated data, irrespective of cause
Assist in the development and refinement of research methodologies, quality assurance and all other processes
Provide timely and complete resolution of ad-hoc internal and external data queries
Perform UAT (user acceptance testing) of new or enhanced system functionality
Play a lead role in interacting directly with clients to evaluate their needs and deliver upon them in addition to driving meetings when necessary
Support training of future members of staff
Other special projects as required
Skills & Experience
Prior experience of working with VentureSource (venture capital) data is essential
Advanced SQL, Advanced Microsoft Access, Advanced Microsoft Excel (macros and VBA a plus, but not required)
Experience with JavaScript, Java, C# and a scripting language. Familiarity with Sharepoint a plus
Must be able to clearly relay assignments and provide detailed feedback to project team members
Detail-orientation, thoroughness, reliability, and ability to prioritize required
Intelligence and independent decision-making is a must
Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to meet tight deadlines
3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity where analytical thinking, abstract reasoning, and creative problem-solving were critical to successful completion of analysis projects
Financial Private Market or Risk & Compliance background preferred
Ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities
University degree required
